Description Hey look, I'm finally uploading something that isn't a doll photo, isn't that exciting?

...Okay, Autticus being sad all over his dead wife's grave probably isn't the most exhilarating thing out there, but it's pretty. Right?
(And yes, he is kissing her casket. He does that. :I)

So backgrounds are a bitch to draw, multiple sources of candlelight are a bitch to shade, and working with 30+ layers is just... FFFFFFFFwhatthefuuuuck. Though I have to admit, as tedious as this one was, it was fun to try something different.

Sorry it took me so long to upload something more than inbox spam. I think my art block is finally starting to wear off a little.

Gaahhh this is just so pretty and sad and fsdgjkf. ;n;
I think you did a good job with the various light sources from all the candles though, must have been quite a challenge.
I don't know much about Autticus but I do feel sorry for the guy. :/

How did this slip by me for over a week? ffffff this is so puuuuuuuuuuurtyyyyyyy huuuurg

Those candles are a gorgeous touch and I am so digging the reflectionsssssssssss. I'm surprised the granite/marble is still glossy cuz I imagine Autti going over and smudging his face and hands on it daily til he wore it down to a greasy little crater.

Looool. Now I can't stop seeing him rubbing his face all over that thing every day.

"BAWWWWWW... *smearsmear*"

Also candles are fun. They're totally my new favorite non-human subject to draw. C8

I love the way the casket shines, it just adds so much more emotion than a dull one...

...odd way to phrase that but yes that’s what I mean. It looks like it’s well taken care of.

Ahhhh, so pretty... D: That's my main thought, though I'll try and come up with a few other things.

The color pallet is very narrow, which is nice and also pretty realistic considering that there's not much light beyond all the candles. And speaking of candles, wheeeeeee! I love the variety between all of them, and how melty they are. They really set the scene. Actually, everything does. The granite and the dead flowers and then poor, poor Autti.

ANGST BABY ANGST.

you have gotten so much better with architecture. seriously. this is amazing. I LOVE how much the granite walls and coffin LOOK like granite (and very polished granite at that). a little softer of a glow (in center) of candles might have made them look a little more realistic for dark/very low lighting, but if you haven't done them before then I'm very impressed (cause besides the above mentioned their really good). some of the candles look a little awkwardly placed (like they have round bottoms) but other than that the melted effect is very good too. I also like how the color of the flowers came out. they look very dry and dead. (if you wanted to later emphasize the point of dryness you could add a few more petals or leaves scattered next to the flowers as if they had fallen off (like you already did)). they speckling and marbling look to the granite has to be my fav overall though.

side note: his pointy ass nose must really hurt from crunching it into that coffin XD

great job overall Linds. very good work.

Honestly, the granite and marble are actual marble/granite textures layed over the drawing. The reflections I had to do myself though. xD;;

Haha, yeah this was my first time CGing fire in ages, the very first time being this: [link] Hurgh.

I hadn't noticed the bottoms of the candles until you mentioned it. *still-life retarded* Funny thing is, there were supposed to be a lot more that were nearly melted into puddles, but that proved to be a major pain in the ass to draw (plus I like the composition the taller ones made). I could probably fix them, though their line art and color layers were merged. x:

As for the dead flowers, the whole tomb is supposed to be filled with them (Autti hasn't really touched anything in there since Ydonelle's funeral, save for replacing candles), including more on the actual casket there, but it cluttered up the picture so I didn't bother. But yeah, I can get what you're saying about adding more petals and whatnot. I'll be sure to remember that next time I take a swing at this environment.

Anyway... Thanks so much for the advice, and yeah, Autti probably re-broke his nose there. :'D

actually I like the amount of candles and flowers you did. I think any more might have made it look too cluttered of pulled the audiences attention away from the main focal point (broken nose Autti). I kind of like the fact that they're all different heights too. makes it look more realistic (cause come one, what two candles always melt the exact same amount at the exact same time right?).

I think I really like this piece. it has a great overall composition and it has to be one of the best ones I've seen from you in a long time. and gods has your work improved in the last two years. I'm jealous. *hasn't drawn herself in nearly two years*
