Its supposed to be sand is the answer to your question
the fact i have to say that shows that i didn't do a very good job with the realism of the pic... anyway ... it was quite hard to do and in my opinion i think i acjived a sandy beach look wuite well
the ref was of Adriana Lima

Excellent work on the arm on first plane and the face...and i know you can get sharper on the rest of the body and the hair to make all your pic at the same level of detail.
For me that the hair and the back arm are a little soft (i don't know how to explaint it better). Look for some hair tutorials here on DA it may open a new way to see it for you.
Your drawings are geting better and better everytime. i'm looking forward for your next work.

i made the sand by drawing it in 2d then putting a drop shadow effect on it .... and a little bit of magic
