This one was a lot of firsts for me, first project of my drawing 2 class, first still life I have ever done, first time doing an actual value drawing, first time with the materials... Let's just say I was thoroughly confused the entire time. It didn't help that I apparently used the wrong side of the paper, which left pockets everywhere.
It was a very good learning experience though. I am going to really work on getting a wider range of values next time!
Materials: pan pastel, charcoal

Yeah, I was busy fighting against the paper and my professor comes over and says I'm using the wrong side so it was going to have way too much tooth. How should I know any different, I just now crawled out of my digital cave...
And thank you haha... I still don't know how to tell which side is the right side...
