I have found on a name for Telyn's Vvardvark: Salmiaky. First she was called only Salmiak, but then I was eating licorice in Sweden from the company Salmiakki and thought that sounded cuter !
The name also has a story. It relates to two things that describe Telyn: his love for licorice (which is traditionally made with salammoniac) and his occopation as an alchemist/potioneer. Salmiak is the German&Scandinavian word for salammoniac.

So, I totally fell in love with these animals ! I did some research on pangolins, anteaters and aardvarks to get an idea of how a vvardvark can move/behave/sound. They are all so cute . I thought vvardvarks might be able to roll up like pangolins, because they look a lot alike and it would explain how vvardvarks use those scales.

Salmia was raised by Telyn and is therefore pretty attached to him. Even after Telyn tried to reintroduce her to the wild, she returned to her "daddy" and does not get along with other vvardvarks. So Telyn did not have the heart to send her away and therefore kept her as a pet. Salmi will follow Telyn around sometimes and likes to be cuddled as far as possible with those scales. But she can take care of herself, does not need to be fed and knows to do her duty away from the house . Depending on the weather and mood she will either sleep outside or underneath Telyn's bed, where she has a "burrow" out of pillows. Whenever she is in danger, she will roll herself together or she will call for her daddy while running towards him. She also reacts to Telyn's voice and will come when called.
Generally, Salmiaky is a bit cowardice and will often squeak to call her daddy. For that reason Telyn's mother would find the creature very annoying and likes to throw things towards poor Salmia. Hlara also does not like Salmiaky for being an artificial species and therefore considers her something unnatural that needs to be terminated. As a result the little vvardark is even more afraid when Hlara is around.
