Description
The first thing Ashley noticed upon waking up was a slight headache. Consciousness came back to him in the form of blurred images and hazy thoughts. He made the move to cradle his head in his hands, when he realized he couldn't move them. Moaning softly, the second thing he noticed was the sensation of something on his face. Trying to make a sound, his thoughts snapped into attention upon finding that his mouth had been sealed shut with tape. Trying to test his movements, he discovered he was completely wrapped up from head to toe. Even his fingers were rendered useless, restricted by the thick tape. He tried looking around, but the room was pitch black. Was he blindfolded? No, there didn't feel like anything was over his eyes. So where was he? Lying on the floor in an unknown location.
The confusion quickly turned into anxiety as the memories of the previous events came rushing back to him. The criminal had caught him from behind, clasping a gloved hand over his mouth holding a cloth. The young detective attempted to fight back, but being caught off guard didn't give him much of a fighting chance. He was knocked out within a matter of moments.
Ashley began struggling - he had to get out of here! If he didn't the criminal would get away, or worse, come back to deal with him.
"Mmph! Mmh, mmff!" He tried calling out, but there was no way for him to form the correct words. Footsteps outside of the room made his heart flutter - someone had heard him! They were coming to rescue him!
Only, when the door was opened, and light shown in on Ashley's face, his hope turned into panic upon seeing the face of the criminal standing before him.
"Well, you're awake." He spoke, voice deep and taunting. "I hope you're comfortable."
"Mff!" Ashley made a move to kick the man, but with his ankles, knees, and thighs taped together, his kick didn't hold any power, and the kidnapper merely laughed.
"Sorry I had to do this, detective. I really am. But you just had to keep getting in my way."
Ashley began struggling again, attempting to wiggle his taped fingers. There had to be some way out - any way out!
"You just sit tight. I'll be back soon. And then we can figure out what to do with you next." The door to the small closet began closing, and Ashley frantically shook his head, begging not to be thrown back into the darkness.
"Mmmh! Mmmph!" He wriggled as best as he could, trying to inch towards the doorway. The last thing he saw before the dark filled his vision again, was the fading smile of the criminal.
"See you later, detective."
