I love roads!! They always take you places if you follow them. But they also offer the possibility of stopping wherever you wish to for as long as you need before continuing your trip.
Just like life!

so thank you for this great deviation!

Well, it can be photoshoped and still be real, or not? No manipulation here, but there's post-processing, two totally diferent things...

I am divided about the little red sign. I think it brings the picture back to the ealistic intrusion of the mechanistic world of roads, but I wish it didn't. What happened to walking? < smiles > Great contrast, coor, sharpness, poetry.--S.

I don't remove or add elements from the original composition, that's why the sign remained. Anyway, I find it pulls the viewer a tiny bit to reality which results in an overall tension.

"And now the time has come.... the warm landscapes that once joined me in the spirital growth of mental breaches, will give place to a frightening void that represents the evolution of life in its rawest form...
It's time to move on and face the battle of eternal evolution... hoping to regain the sweet sight of those visual delights...
José Ramos"
Oh. My. Gosh. It's just a road. A frightening void that represents evolution of life in its rawest form? You that doesn't make sense, right?

This is a really great image in general, but I chose it as one of my favorites cause it really portrays an accurate personal experience that I encountered of my time during the recent Hurricane evacuation in Opelousas, Louisiana. I stayed in a house there, while I was in evacuation out of New Orleans from Katrina, and Rita hit very close to Opelousas at that time. The road that the house was on looked amazingly similar to the one in this image. Especially once that area went under a tornado alert and the sky turned dark and eerie over the road.
I took a few pictures of the road I'm talking about here, but they aren't anything special...just pictures.
Here they are:

Thanks a lot! Altough I shot this photo in conditions which were the opposite of those you described in your case, I'm touched that this reminded you of such a powerful moment. That is the greatest pleasure one can have with sharing photograpies: to trigger intense conscious states and memories.
Thanks a lot for the great comment!
Best regards - José Ramos
