I actually don't think the Space Jockey is the same species as the Engineers, the Engineers technology while Organic, isn't exactly grown in the same way the Space Jockey's was, it looks to me that the Engineers reverse engineered the technology of the Space Jockeys ala, you can believe the big guy in Alien isn't actually a suit.

lol The Alien saga was already dead with Resurrection, there is literally nothing left to do with the Xenos, their only option was to convert it into something else take the Saga in a new direction, hence Prometheus.
I loved Prometheus and I believe it's a good new direction to go, the Engineers are far more interesting anyway, sorry to hear you're displeased with the new direction they've taken the series.
