Secret Santa over at #fantasy-xchangeWe were to draw a head shot of the characters we were assigned.
Though I never imagined I'd be drawing a human, I really hope it came out well.
I'm a little sad I wasn't able to include the wings though, as I really loved their pattern.
Anyway, here's Cooper for ~Esktasy

Oh my God. This is amazing. The shading is just great! (I love the way you drew his nose and mouth) It's sick!
I'm also glad you used different colors in his face, such as green and purple. It makes it look even more realistic! The lightning is just perfect!

I basically did it all in grey scale, to colour afterwards, so I could focus on colour and shading separately. ^^

I've been trying to form a nice, intelligible comment for this all day. But it mainly just causes my brain to short circuit from how pretty it is.
I have to say though if I had to pick one thing I really loved about it, it would be the way you coloured the skin.
It really comes out as a nice proper skin tone and the character feels fully fleshed out (pun not intended) and not flat. Something I find many artist, including myself, have a hard time doing.
All in all it is a beautiful piece. I am sure the person receiving it will love it. ^^

I actually drew the skin in greyscale, which allowed me to focuse separately on colour and shading.
