It looks amazing so far
I think the hair nicely blends with the backgroung, I like the effect. Although you might want to add a few lighter strands with a sharp edge of a rubber in some places, it would make it even more interesting in my opinion.
I'm really looking forward to the next WIP or the finished version!

Hmm... to tell the truth I never used (or heard of) a tortillion, but if it's a kind of rubber with a pointed tip then it should be perfect for that
