Adair's struggle for perfection and his attempts to pretend everything is fine finally take a toll on Chekilla. Once she receives news that her father's health has taken a sudden turn for the worse, she packs her things and moves back with them for some time, needing to help her mother and sister now that father is ill. She also explains to Lad that she knows something is wrong with him, but she can't help him if he won't say anything about it. He attempts to convince her he's fine, but he's not fooling anyone. With a kiss on his cheek, she leaves, promising to keep in touch by letter, and hopes that perhaps, with time to himself, he can work through... Whatever it is. And if he wants to talk, she'll be there.

Lad is not happy with her assessment. Mostly because she's poking at something that is a problem, one that he doesn't want to admit. Time will have to tell if being alone will be good or bad for him.

This was done maybe 2-3 months ago? I'm still super proud of the background, heh. I didn't use a single picture for reference but I did look at multiple pictures of foggy forests for inspiration.
