I am /SO/ glad that this is finally done!
And I am so, so happy with how it came out in the end. ;u;

I love to challenge myself when I draw, whether it be through drawing animals I've never drawn before, drawing someone and having it resemble them without being realistic, and probably one of the biggest challenges for me, drawing full backgrounds. |D;
For a while there, I was a bit worried that I bit off more than I could chew but. DETERMINATION won out in the end. :'D

I meant to finish this on Sunday actually, but my nose decided to be rather rude and I spent the next couple of days constantly blowing my nose.
Like. Literally constantly. |D;

But I'm all good now and for the first time in years, I've actually got something up here with a full background that I'm immensely proud of. ;3;
I think I could have done the cliffs better, but I couldn't seem to get them the way I wanted, so I settled for this. I also didn't do the distance blur right but shhh. Shh it's okay I'll do it better next time. D: >

On the other hand, I'm really happy with the cracked ground, it came out exactly the way I imagined!
Definitely a huuuuuge learning experience for me. ;u;

I also stopped myself from using premade textures and painted everything by hand, except for the slight colour variation in the ground and the top cliff. Those were done with the cloud render in PS, sharpened, and transformed. c:

I tried hard to blend the character into the background a little more with the shading colours, a bit of reflective lighting, and coloured lines. I'm really happy with how that all worked out. ouo

Oh and this character is a fossa named Agave. You can read more about him here !
I chose to draw him because I've never drawn a fossa before, and I liked how the head shape looked, so I couldn't cover it with his mask ( sorry! ).

The setting is sort of like a desert ( thank you, info section, for the inspiration! ), though it kinda resembles the badlands more haha, but yeah. I wanted to try drawing something with an orange-y colour palette, compared to my safety net of blues, greens, and basically cool colours everywhere. |D;
It wasn't necessary for me to draw a background at all, but. You know. Take advantage of inspiration whenever you can. :b

So yeah! Here is Agave. ;u;
