Description Tentatively done with this for now... it's not a great stitch, but I can do a better scan when I get my rig back up again. Until then, I gotta make do with a li'l bitty scanner, and this was worked up a little large.

14x17, pencil on bristol, about 4-6 hours to completion. You can see rough and partial stages in my Scraps, here -> [link] and over here -> [link] and read up on the story behind this picture if, you know, you're into that sort of thing. Whatever, I'm not here to judge.

To learn about digital painting i've took one of your images and painted that on Adobe Illustrator. Than I have a Idea to capture my screen to make a video of myself painting. I don't know if you will like what i've done or not. But here is the link of the video ( [link] ) I've put the credits for you on the video and on the description. I thought that could like that. But if you doesn't, please tell me that I'll take the video off. I hope you enjoy that. And continue to do your fantastics draws!!!! Thanks

I try to look at the entire picture but my eyes keep going to dat ass.
Well done, good sir. You have a drawn a character that is both incredibly sexy AND looks like a real adventurer!
that is rare

Thanks! It holds up all right for a four-year old picture, but it still needs a real background for setting and context.

Absolutely brilliant lines! I really love all the toolkits and thought you've put into this piece. I'd love to see it what this lock is attached to and I'd love to see it colored, but it's fantastic as is! Bravo!

The thing that gets me the most about this piece is that you managed to keep the anatomy spot on for being in such a contorted position. I wouldn't have been able to pull that off EVEN if I had a model of the same body type doing that very pose in front of me. Great mind for anatomy my friend. I wish I could do as well.

If you have any suggestions for my linearts, please give them to me I need all the help I can get. Also, I am coloring this particular piece cause I just seem to need to color it. It deserves as much. You have been forewarned. It may be awful.

the only advance crit i could give would be....
mabye you can vary the line weight because of all of the detail.
but i still love it!
if you have time would you possibly take a quick look at my art and let me know what you think?

Your work looks fine... just keep up the practice. I try to make every new drawing better than the last one (don't often succeed, but I keep trying). Remember, it's not just about how it looks, it's how it's built from the inside out. Good structure shows through.

I was looking at all your other art before hand, and I kept noticing in your comments that you keep saying most of your art/animations are
"Roughly done".

I for one don't think so. xD
All of your arts are really rare and well done, your animations are wonderful~ The movements are really well drawn out, and everything matches and blends in with each other well.

Your lineart is impressive, I would really like to colour them.
However that is up to you if you would let me.
Credit is all yours for the lineart.

Please do keep up the good work, I'm enjoying your art and animations.

I general don't mind people coloring my lines at all. Just ask about the piece in question, in case it's one of the few that are off-limits. This one, for instance, is open-season... have a blast.

I'm rarely satisfied with my own work, if only because it rarely meets my private objectives... I try to judge the value of a given piece from an objective standpoint, though... for instance, if I put it up online at all, it means I probably liked something about it.

chiyo-san In reply to Inkthinker [2007-01-16 11:12:14 +0000 UTC]

Most artists aren't satisfied with their own art or other things they do.. probably cause maybe they know that they might have improved on something they could have done or somesuch.. well thats what I think on mine anyway, but its nice that you have submitted yours even when you say they are rough, they are really nicely done.

Thanks for the permisson. ^^
I need some things to colour, my drawing skills have lacked this week.. D:<
I'll show you when I finish it if you would like. =3

Wow, this is amazing!
I always loved Thief type characters when playing Dungeons and Dragons.

But tell me, is it done completely in pencil, or is it inked too? And what kind of Bristol paper did you use?

Awesome job!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Inkthinker In reply to Sprained [2006-10-20 19:15:17 +0000 UTC]

No pencil, no ink... it's all digital inking in Manga Studio EX, from the rough sketch to the final line. Check out my Scraps and you can find some WIP work that shows a few intermediate steps.

Whoops... I'm sorry, I was replying in the Message Center and thought we were talking about a different piece.

THIS piece was done in pencil on Bristol... Strathmore 2-ply Smooth Plate Bristol, I believe, and using only a Ticonderoga red "checking" pencil to rough it out and a Roseart No.2 wooden pencil for the finish (basically a school pencil equivalent to an HB).

Though there's still some WIP versions in the Scraps, I think.
