Just the basic sketch of Usagi for the colour piece (>>> [link] <<<

All drawn with an Intuos tablet in Manga Studio EX. Used a Maru pen set to .05mm on a page set to about 11x17 and at 600dpi, so in terms of actual size this is really a pretty big drawing. One of the many beautiful things about digital drawing though, is that it don't really matter beyond how much it hogs the system's resources. I can zoom in or out to get as close or as far back as I like, making it equally easy to concentrate on the full composition or the smallest details.

I just meant to do a sketch, and this only took about 45 minutes, but it got a lot more complex. The background lines that you see in the final were also drawn in Manga Studio with the Brush pen set to 2mm (though I tried not to use the full width of the line in order to maintain an organic shape), but I've removed them here.

It's funny, but even though this seems to have shades of grey like pencil, it's actually all solid black aliased lines. It's just that killer 600dpi native that gives it any subtlety.
