I am on all the christmas cards.I will place myself so firmly in the entire imagery of christmas, that I will be found even on cards made by Scandinavian artists.
Norwegian "nisse" - European Robin.
Even though said artist has never seen me in nature.
Not around christmas anyway.
Because, you see... I don´t like the Scandinavian winter.
The Scandinavian winter is too cold for me.
So in winter I leave.
Travel south, for warmer climates.
Not very far mind you.
Just farther south than Scandinavia.
Which is why in Scandinavia around christmas, the Bullfinch is far more popular.
But...
Now and again, you can pick up a card with me on it.
And you will scratch your head.
Because, you know I am not here.
Not now, anyway.
That is what I am.
An elusive piece of christmas imagery.
