Kinda just a 'what if' idea for how Shino might have reacted off screen to what happened with Hinata and Neji during the chuunin exams. Not supposed to be a ShinoHina thing either, but I feel like both Shino and Kiba are protective of Hinata just in general, though they have different ways of showing it and acting. And I could totally see Shino finding the time to pull Neji aside and calmly letting him know that he had one strike against him already, so not to push it.In a fight with these two, I'm not entirely sure who would win. Neji does have his ultimate defense, as well as his ability to see chakra and being a year older with more training could be an advantage. But on the other hand Shino's bugs devour chakra, and all he needs to do is get one attached to Neji and since he's sparred with Hinata before, he'd know at least the basics of fighting the Hyuuga style. Whereas Neji has never fought someone like Shino. They're both pretty good strategists, though I think Shino might have the edge in that as well.
I think the whole fight would be pretty evenly matched between these two, but...I love Neji, but I have to give victory to Shino. It'd be hard won I think, and it could be close, but I think Shino is one of the few that could beat Neji even at this age.
So yeah. Hope you guys like the random comic page.

I'd have to agree with you there as well. It wouldn't be an easy fight, but I think in the end he'd wind up as the victor.

Seriously, these guys need some recognition for what they do. And also what they can do! I mean if you were going to have anyone fight Uchiha's I'd pick the Aburames, because they can see through genjutsus. So some of the Uchiha's ultimate attacks would be rendered useless.

While I agree that Shino and Kiba are protective of Hinata and that Kikaichu would devour Neji's chakra, Shino still would have a hard time beating him. Neji was then very fast and Shino focuses entirely on his clan jutsu when fighting. If Neji managed to get close to him then I think a good Juuken strike would end this fight.
On the other hand Shino is almost as good tactician as Shikamaru. He would have some traps prepared for this encounter.
Then there is Byakugan...
There is also fact that Kikaichu are quite a big swarm...

I love the sibling feeling with their relationship. And I really think it's only because they didn't want to upset Hinata more, that Shino and Kiba didn't do something. Because as much as I love Neji, I know if someone hurt one of my friends like he did Hinata, I'd at least tell them off, and if they pushed it...probably throw a punch.

Glad to know you're open minded! And I live ShinoTen too, just not as much as NejiTen and I secretly like NaruTen. I feel as if they could have a sibling relationship, but at the same time its kind of attractive for them to be a couple

I don't multiship much--maybe with Shikamaru and Ino, but that's about it. But yea everything has their certain appeal and that's why some make great pairings!

I think the reason I multiship so much is that I like seeing how different pairings show different angle s of a character. Like what might happen in one pairing or be an issue with one, might not be an issue with another. Especially with clans and such. I think Gai and Tenten are the ones I multiship the most.

I think both Shino and Kiba consider Hinata as their little sister. They want to protect her.

I have seen those, they're amazing. I love how they get the fight from the different angles and POVS.
They definitely want to keep her safe, and I think in general with teammates there's a line you don't cross. Family or not. Like how I think Gaara's lucky Tenten and Neji didn't get him alone after what he did to Lee.

It would be an awesome fight. You would think Shino has an advantage, since he's on a team with a Hyuuga. But I think Hinata and Neji still have their own battle styles. It won't be easy for both.
Yeah, that's right. Lee also defended Tenten, when Temari treated her like trash. You can see they care for each other.
