Description
This picture was the combination of a few things. First of all, I’ve always thought that “Sides” was kind of a … weak nickname. Then, people are always having Sunny getting annoyed at being called “Sunny,” but he never DOES anything about it. Finally, when I read the line “The name meant 'sideswipe' as in a wreck, but it had an interesting inflection that implied that the one named was the swiper rather than the swipee” in On The Care And Feeding Of Humans [link] , all the stars aligned and this picture was born.Related content

I actually had a random thought fly through without clearance the other day....... and it was totally Sideswipe and the whole "Swiper, no swiping!" thing! I so totally blame my kids for turning on Nick..... there is no brain rot like Dora, WonderPets, and Yo Gabba Gabba!

If I may muse for a moment, the only reason I feel that Transformers is worth anything AT ALL is the fans. Had it not been for the massive amount of awesome writers/artists who took it upon themselves to make Transformers comics/cartoons/stories/etc (canon or otherwise), I don't think I would have cared at all. I mean, let's be frank, there is all kinds of suck in G1. But the fans took what they had and made an AMAZING fandom out of it. It's so neat to be a part of all this!

Hmm... I'm not too sure about Ratchet.. But Prowl doesn't seem the type so Ratchet it'll be! Now.. With Sides being Swiper, in honor of his new nickname, would that make Sunstreaker boots?
*nods* I agree whole heartedly. You make an extremely valid point. I think alot of fanon gives the characters more personality. Without it what would we have? With G1 there was barely any character development for the massive amounts of the characters they had on the show. To say fans gave them life wouldn't be that much of an exaggeration. In all honesty I fell in love with the TF's after I read fanfiction and saw the various types of art here. Now.. Forgive me.. I kinda ended up rambling there without really contributing anything...
