Steppe Eagle - (Aquila nipalensis)This is Boris, he's only young and is currently bring trained to come to the glove(with mixed success XD).
He's a lovely, chatty big softy with a great temperment and will no doubt make a great handling bird one day.

It's totally healed now and his face is beautiful <3. As for the training, well there isn't any. He went up for the molt and did it horribly, drooping feathers before they came through and generally being unhelpfully feathered. Now we are hoping to, very slowly, get him going this year - we'll see what happens.

We had a baby barn owl who's feathers were deformed (his siblings were fine), and he just stayed looking like a baby, even his body feathers stopped growing early. He was mega cute but he couldn't fly of anything... Well, he could a little, then he crashed.
