Description The Nick Fury of my champions camapign in the 90s was Lindsay McKenzie. She was assigned by BIO (Bureau of International Operations) to play den mother to the Seattle based super hero team The Furies. [link]
I thought it would be fun to revisit her and draw her again.

Very, very nice. Very Warren Ellis-esque.

Appearance-wise, yeah, especially with the cigarette. Though I was thinking more Miranda Zero from "Global Frequency."

You should read "Global Frequency." Really cool sci-fi series by Ellis.

I tried. Read two of the Graphic Novels. Now Planetary I liked.

Planetary, oh hell yeah. Global Frequency is along the same lines as that series, though a fair bit darker.

Must be newer series as I recently gave up comics cold turkey

No, its an older one of his, from about ten years ago.

Why'd you quit comics completely? Fed up with the antics of the bigger companies?

Half of it was I was running out of room....the other half was DCs 52 which as you say was getting fed up with the antics

Ah, I can empathize on that first part. Space and money have been big contributors to me not buying/reading mainstream comics. Still try to follow Ellis' indie work and a couple series at IDW and Avatar.

Well even the stuff I don't care for isn't badly written. He treats the medium with respect and thought

Indeed. Unlike most of the "star" writers and editors at the big companies. Just look at George Perez's nightmare writing the new Superman title. I say "writing" in the looset of senses, since it sounds like it was written by committee.

True. I don't blame him if he quits

Indeed. If I ever end up working for one of the big two, I'm definitely not gonna put my all into the writing. Just enough to be satisfactory and earn a paycheck so I can eek out a living while working on passion projects.

Well at least I don't have to worry about that. I can't compromise my artistic visions....it's what makes me rant about media all the time. I wish you luck.

She is cursed with immortality from a team she was in in the 70s. She cannot die. The cigarette is habit she never has to kick

Immortality? Hot damn, lucky gal, how did that happen? Was she cursed by an old teammate or enemy?

P.S. guess she's kinda like Wolverine then right? He's able to enjoy as many bad habits as he likes too lol

She and a number of others from her team encountered a creature called Afflict that called itself a Djinn and it blessed them with eternal youth and vitality. But it knew that as they aged and those they cared for aged and died around them they would grow to hate this "gift"
