Personality:
Upon first glance, this ice eyed wolf seems collected, cool, and approachable. He is open and friendly, and extremely easy to get along with. He is extremely perceptive and talented at reading others. A flatterer, and sweet-talker, Sascha uses what he learns from others and worms his way into their good graces by complimenting them on the traits he knows they want to be recognized for—beauty, leadership, intelligence, etc. He reads as sincere and genuine. His gentle, kind smile belying the cunning, devilish mind working behind those blue eyes.
Despite deep-rooted insecurities, Sascha carries himself with pride. He may seem insufferable and arrogant to some, for he views himself as so far above everyone else that the views and opinions of others (especially in regards to how they view him) as insignificant as the viewpoint of a flea. He does, however, exhibit quite a lot of humility, although it is not true humility. As with everything about this wolf, it’s a farce, and is just part of the facade he wears to make himself appear more likeable.
Conflict finds Sascha as a cunning tactician. He very firmly lives by the words “keep your friends close but your enemies closer.” He plays the long game, preferring subterfuge and subtlety to outright violence. Sascha prefers very much to have others do his bidding while he pulls the strings. However, he is as cold as his icy eyes appear. He is ruthless and calculating, and every so often he will let that ruthlessness show. Since he often seems so calm and easy-going, always seeming perfectly in control, when he does unleash violence it is shocking and unexpected.
In love (or the perception of such), Sascha acts passionate and considerate. He is romantic, for just as he reads and learns others he crosses paths with, he learns his partner and tells them all the things they want to hear, and gives them all the things they desire. He is kind, and thoughtful, often doing things to show his partner that he paid attention to some little detail, and leaving small gifts to show he was thinking of them. However, as in all that he does, the motivations are selfish, as Sascha always has an ulterior motive.
Everything Sascha does is to improve his own standing in the world. He is ambitious and power-hungry. Everything he does is a stepping stone to his own greatness, trying to fill a void in his heart that he never seems able to fill.
History:
He hadn't been an only pup. There had been one other brown bundle at his side, and in the den they had been very close. He had been Sascha's best friend, until he simply… faded away. It was strange, and he hadn't understood. Even his parents hadn't understood, and the feeling of his cold brother beside him haunted him in a way he still can't quite explain.
Finding Balthazar had been a welcome distraction, and in a way, he was exactly what Sascha had needed. Balthazar had said that he could be whatever Sascha wanted him to be, and the young wolf wanted his brother back. This shadow would have to do. He was strange, he was different, and Sascha could tell that his parents weren't quite sure of Baz, but they took him in, and Sascha had exactly what he wanted, a hole in his heart patched.
Time revealed that hole was never patched quite right, though. Baz made a great brother, but he wasn't perfect. There was always something missing. Maybe it was because they both were using each other for something, or maybe it was simply that Sascha was just never satisfied. As they grew older, as they mingled with other wolves their age, Sascha found himself still looking to patch what was missing from his soul. He had thought he found it in his friend, Adel. To his own misfortune, however, he would never be more than a friend to Adel, and he was bitterly jealous of the wolf that did catch his eye.
For a time Sascha clung to the hope that maybe Adel would move on, would notice him instead. It was Esban who led the group to Malaysia's circle, where her words wove around them like fancy ribbon. It stirred a hunger inside Sascha, filled him with hope. He could be a God. Perhaps then the void that followed him in his heart could be filled. Sascha tried to let the allure of Malaysia's words, and Godhood soothe his jealousy, and to fill the void, and for a time he thought he was under control.
When Malaysia's followers met the strange creatures known as "man" onto the beach, and the two species clashed in a violent bloodbath, Sascha found he was not so put together as he had hoped he was, and when Adel abandoned his "friends," fleeing the scene with Esban, Sascha broke. The only one that was there for him was Balthazar. His brother was the only one that mattered.
Instead of allowing forgiveness into his heart, Sascha let Adel's betrayal fester. Hate was a much easier emotion to deal with. He disappeared with Balthazar for a time, lurking in the shadows among the Kol. It was safer there as he tried to get his paws back under him, and to find himself before he found his way back into the snake pit.
