Description I took this too close to dusk, and it came out rather mushy. I tried to manipulate it but got frustrated; my son John (The Sexy Librarian in my favorites) gave me a tutorial on Microsoft Digital Image Suite Editor, most of which went past too fast for me to absorb very much. So he gets the credit for that part of the art of this piece! He adjusted lighting, color saturation, sharpness, and probably a few other things.

I love how she blends in with the forest while at the same time standing out. (If that makes any sense -_- Great job. ^_^

I had to go back and look at the picture again--but yes that makes sense!
My son gets a lot of the credit for making this a postable picture. [link] Awesome dude he is, if I do say so myself.

it did take some doing, and I'm looking forward to more shots on that path. It is so pretty there, and peaceful.

I can appreciate peacefulness...

why does this not surprise me?!? No debris in the trees, lush green leaves still on the branches, no broken drywall and a bedframe from a house two blocks away piled in the middle of the path--no mystery that you find this attractive...

I forget sometimes what it feels like to not be in a broken world...

That is one of the best forest shots I have ever seen. You captured the shadows, colors, lights, and all the small minor details of the forest. Fantastic!

Oh--and thanks for the fav! Wow. I'm honored. I still want to take SO many more pictures of this path--it holds a marvelously vast array of moods.

I have to give a lot (I mean A LOT!) of credit to my son's manipulations--I should post the original shot in scraps so you all can see the amazing job he did.

Is that you in the photo? It could be a monk all caped and hooded. The figure lends quite the air of mystery to the shot.

Not Quite, dear brother 'tis my dear Jessie girl. Fun comment about the "air of mystery." Cool.

Aww, its a fun little path...I want to take a stroll down it (ahem with a hot Northwestern boy wouldn't be bad either ). I wish I could see the detail of the dog though, but you already gave the reasons for that...so I'm not going to tell you how disappointed I am . I love it though...fall is just beyond beautiful!

I'm still learning about taking photos as dusk. As in, it almost NEVER works. So, I'll have to get her out earlier--this path is a glorious canopy of gold once the leaves change!

AMEN to that! I love the freedom of the delete button, where mistakes or bad shots don't cost a whit. It allows me to take the risks I need to take in order to be creative--it's definitely paying off! :bouce:
