Its set in a futuristic/almost-apocolyptic world where surgery has been blown out of proportion. Mainly due to a world-wide population organ failure, everyone needed emergency transplants. Hearts, livers, spleens, you name it. So, GeneCO, this transpant company helped pay for the surgeries and all that. But alot of people had a hard time making payments for the organs that were keeping them alive. So, this is where the Repo Man comes in. Actually there's a whole song explaining his purpose --> [link] But basically he goes out in the middle of the night tracking these people down. He won't bother to write or to phone you, he'll take the still beating heart from your chest.
And this is just the beginning of the movie. The rest of it follows a young 17 year old girl named Shilo, who has a major blood condition and can't leave her home, Nathan (Shilo's father) who works for Rotti Largo, the owner and slowly dying owner of GeneCO whose three spoiled children are fighting over the inheritence before he's even dead, and a singer named Blind Mag, who is under a GeneCO contract after a eye transplant with these awesome mechanical eyes.
I think that's all I can say before spoiling anything. I...really like this movie. And its almost entirely in song.
