I feel like I've neglected Altair over the past week or so since Ezio popped up and stole his role of being one of my muses.I read a comment somewhere that the same thing had been happening with most the Assassin's Creed fan artists as of late, and that poor Altair had been forgotten.
Well, I haven't forgotten him!
Unfortunately, I couldn't give this picture as much attention as I did the one of Ezio. Which makes me sad. -_-
I've been having a pretty shoddy day today (completely caused by myself) and apparently it's shown in my art.
I was going to do a completely different picture, one from the front where he's perched on the edge of something, but my anatomy wanted to suck horribly, so I did this one instead.
I tried my best to make it look as good as possible, but I'm not too proud of the outcome. But that's just me. I haven't edited it in photoshop at all, not even to clean it up. I just don't feel up to it right now.
This took me about seven hours to do, though it doesn't look it.

You're absolutely right. It's almost, at times, like Altair's been completely forgotten! But he'll always be the original, so I'll always have a special place in my heart for him, no matter how amazing Ezio might be.

Well, the overall picture isn't that bad, I know, but there are a number of things I know I could have done different that would have made it look a lot better.
That brace was hard to draw. It's real small, 'bout the size of my thumb. I think I paid more attention to detail there than any other part of the picture.

and you forgot the glove on his other hand -- a minor point. imagine if you had to draw all those crossbows if UBI had left them in

I forgot where I got the original picture I drew from, or else I would have put it up. The only copy I have of it is the printed copy I used as reference.

I agree with you. Ever since Wzio showed up, Altair has been pushed to the side by many fan artists. If I could draw people at all I would do some AC fan art.

Thanks. It was actually a challenge for some reason. (I normally can shade as easy as I can breathe)
I can understand why, though. Ezio has a more interesting personality, and is a lot more fun to draw for some reason.
I still like Altair, though. Without him, there would be no Ezio.
