Primitive Vortians, before they got clotheses! <3I see Vortians as vaguely mammilian, mostly just because the horns look it. Fffff. I have no good reasons here.
Likewise, the young are born in litters and called kittens. Why? BECAUSE IT'S CUTE. I MEAN LOOK AT THOSE LITTLE BUGGERS.
I especially like the little runt with its stubby horns~! ^0^

I think the concept was of the mother. I wasn't really thinking that in-depth about it; it was pretty much just "HEY I'M BORED AND I'VE NEVER DRAWN VORTIANS BEFORE LETS GO FOR IT."
XD You do have a point there, but on the other hand, 'vaguely mammilian' can cover a lot of territory that doesn't necessarily fit our traditional mammals. Mebbe more of just the "live young" and "fur" parts?

I understand Imagining alien life. Not a lot is known about the fictional race of the vortians. I don't believe we ever seen a female, so it gives anyone creative licence to do anything, better yet to do wonderful pieces like this.
So cute. I love the idea of vortians having kittens!

That is indeed a hazard with these guys.
Now imagine them even younger and learning to walk. They probably fall down a lot with those stubby little nub-paws. ^^
