Thanks. I'm not that familiar with CS2 although I do have it but I kind of think I would be able to achieve something similar with PaintShop but I was wondering what you have done to make the figure look so much more like a painting than the photograph. I did check out the original photo to compare

Thats the fun part for me, i used cs2 and just painted over the photo with different opaques using the reguler brush tool anywhere from 3 to 13 in size, i also used the smudge tool alot. it takes a bit longer and i'm sure you can get the same results with filters, but i was a traditional artist and like spending the time working on them. i also use the curves in cs2 and select color alot on whites to remove any black or other colors. i have coral painter but havent really used it much and am not familiar with Paintshop, but i do love cs2. hope this helps.

ahhhhhhhh now that will be why this appeals to me so much ... its that traditional painting touch to it. I'm mostly a traditional artist as well.

Thanks for sharing this information

You're developing a very strong style now, which I really rather like. I think MOAR texture though, because I am a textureholic

Thanks - I was going to ask you to critique this one - ya beat me to it. I love texture too..trying to find the right mix for me...I'm trying to re-create my painting style and use textures more as an addition..in oil the paint was the texture, the paper for watercolor.. guess in this media for me i want to use it as a finishing touch...does that make sence?...no idea why i blended it in this...anyway...i do think your right about more. Thankyou

I think very subtle texture all over, don't just layer it on, blend it about a bit
