Description
This isn't the full idea of what I think he would look like, but its the basics.Gloves and Jacket, because it's homage to Threeboot Lyle and it gives him more of the "wandering Legionnaire" look I thought he'd have.
Goggles, because the headband is just tacky, in an adorkable way. He'd probably cameo one in an episode for the fun of it. Plus, goggles scream 'SCIENCE' to me. Probably because we had to waste money on new ones for the lab every year in high school.
I like everything except the uniform itself. Gotta work on that.
It's fairly obvious I cant draw anything directly into the computer. Expect better work later.

As far as the uniform goes I say go with the Reboot version

Considering how much the show deviates from the original Legion in both design and story, I paid homage to those two "boots" of the series, but I wanted it to look unique.
This was submitted back in 2008, so my design and plan for how he was worked into the Legion series has since been altered and finalized. I just haven't drawn anything to depict them as of yet.

I wanted Lyle to have a jacket, so I came up with an original one with a Legion symbol but in introverted colors so that it showed his slight seporation from the rest of the team.
My idea was that in Seasons 1 + 2, Lyle was away with a smaller Legion team [consisting of Sensor, Shadow Lass, Monstress and Wild Fire] on a long term mission. I didn't want him to be a new member who had to learn the ropes, but more as someone trying to find his place on the team again. This way he could still be witty, comfortable and fun loving like Reboot Lyle, while still having insecurities like Threeboot Lyle.
If you'd like, sure! The symbol on the sleeve is seen again but larger on the back.

It's actually Jaques in Dark Victory. He's the one in the cameo appearance. He must be working with the science police as a spy, Lyle.

I've only seen Jacques in the earlier episodes, I remember Lightning Lad runs into him when the beginning of the episode involves Legion tryouts for example. I remember thinking to myself "they can't accept him, they already have Lyle!" But I don't recall seeing him in Dark Victory, even though there are quite a few cameos. But then again, I've only seen the poor quality episodes on youtube, where as the DVDs have such glorious crispness that you can even see the characters mouthing "Superboy" when they say Superman. LOL.
I'm interested, for sure. I'll need to know some info about what you have planned already, of course.

Interesting idea... Perhaps he was there as a replacement for Lyle [who was away on a mission and maybe believed dead?], since Lyle was the one who invented the serum they both used to gain their abilities.

*rolls eyes* Now see, that wasn't what I was saying, Imp. Did I say in my post at all to not kill off Jacques before Lyle is introduced? Don't go spitting in the face of someone who's just making suggestions.
I was pointing out that there has to be a reason for him to have his powers in the first place. Fine, don't make Lyle a Legionnaire previously, but he's the source of Jacques's abilities in both versions of LOSH that the second Invisible Kid shows up in.
So if you decide to kill off Jacques to make room for Lyle, he'd probably have to have known and mentioned the other boy to the Legionnaires, unless Lyle would for some reason have some connection to the Legion before that, which was why I suggested him having a previous membership which Jacques replaced for some reason.

Anyway, yeah. We could work something out. Maybe inbetween seasons both of them applied through the audition and Lyle got it but he had to leave, so Jacques took his spot until he returned?

...It's fine, but very few people will respond positively to sarcasm like that.
That seems like a logical story line. Because Lyle would be the more ideal of the two, considering his intelligence, espionage abilities, and [in Reboot] his hand to hand combat skills accentuate his candidacy. Jacques could be killed while they wait for Lyle to return, which would add to the tension when he finally does and finds out what happened.

That and I think it would be a good idea to feature him in a few stories with the Legion to get the audience acquainted with him. I find that killing side characters is virtually meaningless.

I always assume that Brainy likes Lyle MORE THAN FRIENDS way in Post-ZeroHour. Which is why I pretty much interested the pairing, but then there is Andromeda,and she hasn't shown much interest in him in a while, and as I've pretty much been saying, hopefully the Legion 3Worlds will clean up the confusion and finalize everything, but if not...
Anyways...this is adorkable. Lyle IS adorkable. I can see Brainy glaring at Lyle with Koko on his shoulders. Humorous the way I'm looking at it...

Agreed... and I'm so sad he was totally ignored in Legion of Three Worlds. What a rip off...! So sad that the writers were too homophobic to ever bring their adorable interaction definition... or, you know, ever really show it ever again at all!

Funny story, really, I was outlining a possible "Season 3" for myself to see if it was worth the effort of writing (writing 13 episodes is hard for me, since I'm a procrastonor,) and when researching past Legion of Superheroes things, I kept coming across "Lyle Norg", but didn't know a thing about him. But I put him in anyway, lol. (now all I have to do is write it! XP)
Anyway what I'm trying to say is, what exactly is Lyle like, character-wise? I know a bit about his background, but not about his personality.
....getting back to your picture, I love the goggles idea--and the gloves and jacket. The way you drew him is just cute! and it really looks like something off the animated series, like it came off the tv screen. that's AWESOME. I wish I could pull that off...
