He had to admit, the former stormtrooper had grown well to be a resistance fighter, but he had little temper. I can’t blame him though, Ben thought to himself. If I were him, I would want to kill myself, too. But seeing Finn this very moment, who he had recently learned was force sensitive as well, made Ben feel terribly concerned, not only because his own life depended on it, but because he knew too well how it had all started, how he had fallen to the dark side. He’s afraid.
Help him, Ben sent to Rey. He’s lost. He can’t let go of his hate. Being able to read each other’s mind proved to be very useful after all, especially when done willingly. Rey had some trouble not to startle at their newly discovered abilities, but managed to keep a straight face and concentrate fully on what Ben told her to do.
“Finn.” Hear me, Rey reached out to her friend, hoping it would work just as well as it did the first time she had called him. And indeed, his attention was all hers. Trust me. Let go. Let go of your anger. Ben won’t hurt you. It will be alright. “Put your blaster down.” Rey then pronounced, her expression worried but stern, in a way Finn had never seen it before. Slowly his arms relaxed, steadily ascending along with his blaster. His mind was slowly being put at ease, the Force clearing his eyes which had been blinded by rage.
Out of nowhere, the ground split into separate portions, leaving Rey and Ren little room to move. [...]
