Rarity is my favorite of the Mane 6. It is so rare and refreshing to see an ambitious, fashionista be portrayed as a good friend and excellent sister instead of the automatic villain that so many series would pigeonhole that sort of girl as. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to be well dressed, working towards a career at a young age, and being interested in getting a boyfriend. It is absolutely wonderful that Friendship Is Magic doesn't go the normal "alpha girl" routine and make Rarity a heartless jerk for having perfectly normal interests that MANY girls have.
Rarity and Sweetie Belle always are cute together (if Sweetie Belle can charm her way into taking Rarity camping, then little sister will be carrying the gear. But still Rarity will comfort Sweetie Belle when the campfire stories get scary.) Opal is a darling cat, even if she can be moody. Again, that's typical cat behavior. I love that Rarity finds her sister and her cat napping together in the design studio.
