Valerie is the product of Aethercom, a megacorporate establishment that breaches parallel universes to secure resources. Engineered to use magic in said other realities, she ended up fascinated with the untainted worlds she would be sent to conquer.

Rather than fall in line, she stole a company dropship and set off to a 'Do Not Deploy' reality. Armed with what supplies she stocked in the dropship, and the remaining fuel (and hunted by inquisitors) she has to figure out how she is going to obtain the idyllic life she is after.
