Description Ha, with all my preoccupation with Dandelion seeds ,
double,
single
or blown ,
I totally forgot the flower stage of them, the sunny yellow fluffiness. So here it comes.

Nice shot, like the detail. I too had no idea of the complicated make up of the dandelion.

wow. never thought of dandelions as beautiful until this photo. at first glance it's hard to believe that this is a dandelion.

in case you need more... i have a yard full of dandelions that you are more than welcome to not only photograph but to pull out as you go along

Irena-N-Photography In reply to JimmyOblues [2008-05-23 04:25:21 +0000 UTC]

They are very delicate up close and personal. And very detailed. So called weeds are sometimes more beautiful that hothouse flowers.

Thank you for invitation but I'd pass. There are tons of them growing around my place too.

ps...

love the detail. i never knew that dandelions look like this up close... i love the curls on the ends of their petals (?)

You need to see them in macro mode (or trough macro lens) to notice all details. Although sometimes you could run into a overgrown monster and see all the curls with your own eyes.

Oh this is so intense I can just imagine sinking my face into this and inhaling the aroma. Fortunately I'm not allergic to pollen

This is just gorgeous

Thankfully I am not allergic either. That's why I could stick my nose in them and enjoy the fluffiness.

Thanks, Katie.

I'm just amazed at how you find the beauty in flowers that others don't even "see" at all.. I love dandelions.. Excellent work!

Thank you very much for the compliment. bow:
I love dandelions too. They are such fluffy beauties. And I am happy to see that more and more people are noticing them for photo purposes.

Although when they invade your lawn they could be annoying.

who would of ever thought a dandelion was so delicate and beautiful, infact i never noticed those curly little stems before.......great capture

Irena-N-Photography In reply to 1001G [2008-05-23 03:58:12 +0000 UTC]

Usually you need to see them in macro mode to notice. Unless you encounter some huge dandelion. But they are masterpieces of Nature.
Thanks, Edie. I'm glad you like it.

very nice shot, i did one like this a while back as it such an overlooked flower as most people see it as a weed

"A weed is a plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered." – Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Most of so called weeds are very beautiful. But I could understand people that ry to keep their lawns smooth green.

Thanks, Dale.
