I think I remember this story. It is about a princess who is tricked into marrying a prince that was cursed to be a snake and when he goes missing she cuts herself to stay awake in the hopes of discovering what had happened. When the serpent queen comes to the palace, she tells the bride his story and somehow the princess reverses the curse and the two are remarried. I don't recall all the details and maybe this is another story but, it is nice to reminisce. I only remembered it because of the scene with the queen of snakes who was described as beautiful with her hood covered in precious gems.

I halfway expected the inspiration to be The Lindworm's Bride when I clicked on this. Amazing as ever!

The illustration is based on the song, but I do not know how to translate it into English, there are many words that simply do not have analogues in English. Speaking very conditional - this is the story in the spirit of Beauty and the Beast tale, with the Serpent King as Beast

I, Dragon, perhaps. The serpent (or dragon in some tales) steels away the great warrior's bride to marry her himself. Ultimately, the bride's love finds her and slays the serpent, although she is torn by the fall of the 'villain' after spending an extended period of time with him. It is a common theme, however, each telling has its own flavor.

Of course, I might be wrong.
