Description Brendan and Scout were being chased by the Head Black and Tan, and in this scene are hiding behind a building. This kind of reminds me of the Hobbits hiding from the Ring Wraiths in The Fellowship Of The Ring. I wouldn't want to be caught by THAT guy.

This is actually an older drawing, just never gotten around to coloring it. The only thing that bothers me here is the way I drew one of Brendan's legs. It doesn't look right to me. *sigh* I hate it when I am not fully satisfied with a drawing. Oh well. Hope you like it anyway.

They were basically English soldiers who fought during WW1 who were chosen to go to Ireland and police Irish people, to make sure they didn't try to revolt again after the 1916 Easter Rebellion. The soldiers they chose though were very cruel men, and they would shoot down and terrorize the people of Ireland. The Irish gave them their nickname "Black and Tans" because the English soldiers wore black berets and tan uniforms. The Black and Tans were very hated by the Irish because of their cruelty, and to get rid of them, and to break free from British Rule, The Irish formed the IRB "Irish Republican Brotherhood", which later on became the IRA "Irish Republican Army" At first they were more of a Secret Organization, but then they openly attacked the Black and Tans and fought for freedom. They basically became more like soldiers. Scout of course is supposed to be one of those soldier, freedom fighters. Anyway, there is a wee bit of Irish History fer ye.

Probably because after the (failed) Genocide of 1846-1852, aka the Great Hunger or for the unknowing, the so-called Potato Famine, they were hoping that this time they would succeed or break them in the process, result, they failed beyond their wildest dreams!
