If it's Xel/Zel yaoi, let me remind everyone that Mazoku shouldn't be capable of feeling emoptions as strong as love T_T

Bah, I don't see why not. Even if it hurts them, humans also feel emotions that hurt themselves. And things like intense devotion and loyalty are definitely things mazoku should be able to feel...love comes in a lot of forms. There's happy-shiney-flowery love [that I never see in real life] and there's regular love with its ups and downs and then there's really twisted, dark, disturbing love like serial killers feel.

In the story, it's less about love and a lot more about devotion...and being forced into it.

[I don't see why yaoi by itself should imply love since just, say, sex doesn't require love at all.]

[... Well, okays. Everybody has a different view! I myself believe that Xellos in his full glory when depicted as a mischievious, manipulating, omnipotent and omnipresent entity who does not feel attachment to anyone but himself- it makes him seem so much more powerful if he doesn't have a dependence on emotion or other people as well as their views upon him. Friendship and love are not a weakness for him- he would not put his life on the line for another and wouldn't hesitate to kill someone close if he felt need for it, and he wouldn't feel any remorse either. That is what makes him a Mazoku. ;3]

Well, it's more LOYALTY than friendship and love, etc. Seeing mazoku servants as bound by loyalty to their masters, it's a real factor in their lives, something that, if taken far enough, can affect everything from how they think to how they act. Xelloss has a fair amount of devotion to his master, I think, so the story is about what happens when that devotion is...bent.

Whether he feels love or not is entirely up to what fanfic I'm writing and what whims take me, but in general, I don't think Xelloss has to not care about someone to kill them without blinking, or thinking. I think he's just loopy enough that, if he felt love, it still wouldn't matter one bit when it came down to life and death. You can love and still not be dependant on a person. Or you can love them more when they're dead. Assuming you're some kind of psychopath.

...Which I'm betting Xelloss can easily qualify for.

Well... the killing someone close without hesitation or regret thing was proven in the Slayers anime, where he admitted it himself as he was explaining to Filia why he had been promising Valgaav to kill Lina if he'd join the monster race. Lina forgave him although she knew, cause Xellos is a monster, after all- it's his nature. x3 But in fanfics, Xellos is cool no matter what happens. I just like it more when people keep him in character. I've read some pretty messed up fanfics, where Xellos would act like a total fruit and become much more expressive, excited and flirtous-little-girl-like. That's just kindof sickening... =__=;;

Well, what Xelloss tells Valteria and what he'd actually do are possibly two different things. I think it's pretty obvious that when he walked in there he had every intention of just killing Valgaav, and I'm also sure that he knew Valgaav wouldn't take up his offer.

...I dunno. Xel giggling behind his fan in his cute little red dress. That's um...that's pretty flirtatious little girl like. I think he has a very broad range of crazy, he's not just limited to aloof and collected.

Yuh, he does tend to have too much fun with girly costumes, like that time he wore an apron with a pink frilly dress, no less xD Haha. Now that I think of it, maybe that's why so many people think he's a fruit o_o;;

Bah, anyways, Xellos wouldn't put any of his time into "personal matters"- his devotion lies to his master, his mission, and himself only. That's how it should be. But i admit that it's fun having him get involved with other kinds of things in really good fanfics... like Modern Day I. Gawd I love that one. <3

EXACTLY. I've been saying that Mazoku are completely nonsexual from the begginning! xDDD And You don't need to read the novels to know that (although I do read them...) it's pretty obvious that Xellos isn't meant to be such a character. He's bound to betray teh Slayers whenever, however. ;_;

And dude, Xelloss is defensive of his heterosexuality in the novels. Whether or not that's a case of the maiden protesting too much...it still shows he cares about it. And I really can't think of any reason for him to put up an act about it. Why, to seem more "normal"? The first time Lina sees him he casts a spell that she's only known Lei Magnus able to cast. I think that kind of blows his normalcy cover.

Saying mazoku wouldn't have sex because there's no purpose entirely rules out seduction and intrigue as tools for them, and if Mazoku are entirely ruled by purpose, why is Xelloss going for soft-serve ice cream in Seyruun? If they don't give one care or another about sex appeal, what the hell is up with Mazenda's cleavage?

And to top it all off, the entire start of this was my fanart for a fanfic in which Xelloss has gay sex for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with his sex drive. There was a point to the relationship, there was a point to this art, and I actually specifically started out the story in rejection of the plotless, out-of-character sex rampant in most Slayers yaoi. Not that I think any of the guys need to have a reason to screw each other for me to watch, but for once I thought maybe it'd be nice. If you haven't read the fanfic and you're not paying attention to why I was having Xelloss in a physical relationship at all, then why are you discussing this with me?

xDD Sorry about laughing so much. I respect you and everybody can have whatever ideas they want, that's perfectly fine. Freedom of speech. But my personal opinion is not based on what I like, it's more based on what the author originally intended. Perhaps I'm wrong on that, but so far, that's what i interpreted. (That Mazoku have no sexual desire.) It would be strange to see Xellos blush. o_o;; But anyways, who cares? No need to get all worked up over something. Xellos is cool no matter what. <3 Err... except if he starts acting entirely and completely out of character xDDD

I guess the repeated urgings to read my fanfic and find out that I wrote Xelloss and Zelgadis together due to things completely not based on sex drive, or to find out the author, HAHIME KANZAKA'S, intent FROM THE NOVELS aren't going to help you very much then. What I liked best was when Lina yelled that she had no sexual intentions behind her request, and Amelia and Xelloss look DISAPPOINTED.

I'm actually not sure which one of them being disappointed amuses me more. XD
