What size is it compared to a human being ?

It's about the same size as a normal sword, but a much thicker blade.
When the blade inside is removed from the larger one, that blade becomes the shield.
I got the idea after playing Soul Caliber 5, one character in the game has a weapon just like this, a shield that also functions as a scabbard.
And also, I used the idea of Ludwig's sword as well.

Yeah ! I've got one a bit like that. Spear + Shield = Zanbato (giant sword).
But the way the handle is on the scabbard here made me wonder wether you'd swing it around or shield with it.
