I honestly wish you'd stop doubting yourself, I genuinely love your art. (And you)
when I was at your stage of skill, I wasn't feeling competitive. I was frustrated but I wasnt feeling like the worst artist in the world. I kept trying harder. I aimed for accuracy. And my skills have shot up since I've found inspirations and gotten a social media.
part of me wishes you weren't on dA so you wouldn't feel so competitive but at the same time I wish you'd gotten on sooner so you could have a lot of inspiration.

you're comparing yourself to others. It's one thing to compare and say "hey i'm improving!" it's another to say "oh yours looks better and mine is crap." that's not competitive?

when we met you said you were a big httyd fan and i was like finally someone who would want into the group for the sake of the fandom and not the company and so i was like SOLD sort of, so i invited you in.
and then bratty me realized that you had just started drawing but i didn't like it. I've grown to be more gracious and i genuinely enjoy seeing you improve.
if it makes you feel any better, Jillian asked a few times why I was friends with her even though she was just starting and i'd had a decade's headstart. and I told her that we were friends because she was an inexperienced artist. I found her page and (as rude as it was) thought, "wow this person is terrible"
and then we became friends and i slapped myself

but to think you actually thought that about me makes me cry (in the bad way), i only wanted friends that liked httyd and made art, and once i submitted that first picture of iron and i, and you said you wanted me in, it made me feel accepted becasue i didnt (and still dont) have many friends IRL, at least you were nice to me. 9-9 i is crying bcuz i ddnt think tht you thought that about me
