Interesting to see a moon figure portrayed as masculine, even though we talk of a "man in the moon." The world-weariness in the eyes is arresting.

Excellent values. Your use of shading is applied very well to accentuate certain features on the "face". There's something about the face that almost seems forboding; it's not just the stare, but something in the way his lips appear as well. I'd certainly be wary of sleeping staring into this kind of moon.

Lack of sleep can often generate the better ideas daytime lacks. Somehow the mind becomes more warped in thought.. and there is no better way to deal with it than put it into literature, or art.
