Description
The pink kissing gourami, also known as Helostoma temminckii or the kissing fish, is a brightly colored freshwater fish that can grow up to around 12 inches (30 cm) in length. It can engage in a unique "kissing" behavior with other fish, which may seem like an act of affection, but is actually their way of asserting dominance. They usually engage in this behavior with other males of the same species. Pink kissing gouramis require an aquarium of at least 75 gallons in order to house them, but it's always better to keep them in larger-sized tanks so that they have more space.
