I think it has improved...the color is a little richer than before. Now that I look back at the original, I think I might have been hasty in my judgment.

Far be it from me to tell another photographer what to do, but honestly, I think you shouldn't try to edit it. I'm not sure how much work you did on the original submission of this scene, but this one just seems a bit too processed. I think you wanted to fix the lighting and/or clouds from the kind of overcast day? Short of a filter on the camera when you actually took the photo, I don't really think there's much you can do with that. Speaking on composition, it's a great picture, but I'm afraid the light available unavoidably detracts from it. Don't blame yourself, blame the weather. Just my random internet stranger opinion, take it or leave it-- hope I helped, though.
