LMS Class 5MT 4-6-0 no 44871 on the York Yuletide Express passing over Todmorden Market place.Taken today 12th December 2010
Taken three hours later than expected after a common diesel failed and delayed the tour.
I would appreciate comments on this one as I know it could be improved, but I don't know how.

Great shot! Well composed and catches the fading daylight very well with a good balance between natural light and the lights on the market stalls. The overall effect is quite dark but I think that is necessary to keep some contrast between the steam from the train and the cloudy sky behind.

I think the light gives it the seasonal feel (and those Christmas lights on the right 
The only thing I would have liked was if it was took from a lower angle...but that's just me.

I'm curious about that comment, wouldn't a lower angle give me more car park and less viaduct ?

I see what you mean...but I was kind of thinking of lowering the camera and tilting up toward the viaduct.
As I said...it's just me.
I'm always crouching or lying on the floor taking pictures...I really should have bought a camera with a variable lcd screen.

This is an awesome shot. Like CJ said, it has a very Christmas feel to it, but I can't figure out why, either. If the tents were made of canvas, and the people were dressed in 40s clothing, it would be absolutely perfect.

As I said before, a veyr Christmassy feel to this, quite strange given the distinct lack of Christmas articles and snow, but all the same a very interesting photo. Well done.
