As the artist responsible for the photo that was taken seconds later and provided 2/3 of the title of this image, I feel obliged to provide a critique on this effort by my comrade on that day.

First off, due to the fact this was shot earlier than Charging Princess Part 2, Colin has taken advantage of the train being further away from the camera to provide a more landscape angle than my effort, which also shows the end of the train and the carriages snaking around the back of the plume of smoke emitted from the loco. It's a nice effect that leads ones eye into the surrounding landscape.

Also the white steam emitted from the loco provides a nice contrast against the dark greens of the background foliage. And the colour of the image overall I feel is significantly better than my effort.

However excluding the fencing on show in this image (it would be a problem if it could be physically removed on the day, but as it can't it's not a problem) I feel it's probably not as sharp as it could be. Maybe due to noise removal to certain levels as well as detail preservation in the image. However I've been told mine was oversharpened slightly, so to even things up maybe we're both a bit out with sharpening in both of our images.

It's still an excellent piece however, a dramatic moment of the train rounding the bend taken at the right moment. Very good work. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>
