I'm only offering this info based on "Advanced Critique Encouraged", and as someone working in the field of Mag Glamour, I hope I can be of help.
The model is a bit overweight to be considered a glamour/men's mag photo - it's perhaps a combination of that and the pose of the girl, but certainly not quite at a Maxim-level. The major problems besides that would be the abundance of skin softening and how apparent it is on the photo - her right leg is quite blurry and, unfortunately, would get tossed by an editor quickly as 'plastic' skin is wrote off as an amateur's technique right away. No offense, but those telling you it's "..good enough for Maxim" I can assume aren't involved with the magazine outside of glancing through it at Chapters - because this shot definitely isn't cutting any men's mag list. I'm sorry.

looks quality enough to be an image i would see in Maxim. 
i like the space age sort of vibe this gives off. this silver clothes, the colorful lights.. those make me think of a space ship under attack or something... or going into self-destruct mode. now, why you would be pulling your unders down while a ship is getting ready to self-destruct is beyond me, but i like it!

It was an expierement with the lights and such. I think it came out really nicely too. The tube shots were expieremental too. With the smoke and light table and such. I like to have fun
