Her character, Meg, a girl who, due to tragic circumstances, ends up having to have epic battles against vampires
(not marry sparkly ones yes I said that
more like in the not so long ago golden era of vampire lore as others have told me, ala with Blade, Saya and Buffy )

Oh Isaia. What a wonderful time that was...when vampires didn't sparkle and Mary Sues weren't put into published print. I miss Buffy, and Angel, and Blade. What about Interview with a Vampire or even Queen of the Damn. I feel this is the dark ages of the vampire genre. Thank god for Vampire Knight.

I pray for the renaissance of this age to come, but unfortunately the trend is starting to grow towards corny things like Twilight.

*groans* If you are going to have a love story between a human girl and a vampire, why not, I don't know, give the girl some personality? Seriously. Or how about a vampire with personality? Take a look at Buffy and Angel. But I digress. Now that Twilight has become such a hit I feel that your hunch is more than likely. The CW is starting a series called The Vampire Diaries that looks like a Twilight knock off.
But then again, I've been watching the show True Blood on HBO, and It's not that bad. It's got a interesting twist, vampires being out in the open and known by humans. It's a cool parallel to the civil rights movements of the 60s and 70s. But it's more of a parallel to the gay rights movement of the 90s and now.
It's pretty good. It's a breath of fresh air from Twilight. It involves a school that has a Day Class (humans) and a Night Class (vamps).
