I love this pic. Can't really say anything that hasn't already been said. But I will comment on that stupid remark. It's like this...he doesn't see a colleague in you, he's sees a threat. And anyway he can keep you down from threatening him will make him happy.

"This is a 3d image without soul without style that a 3d program made it alone called POSER..."
What a load of blarney.
This artwork is amazing, very powerful and full of emotion and yes, soul. The color work and composition are very powerful, so rich and full of depth.

Thanks Alain...
yes you are absolutely right...
in the future i will rely more to my judgment than someone who supports that "tool doesn't make an artist" but still he believes that more than anything else...
its quite funny!

Always did love the lightning gods. They have awesome tempers.
Here's my own lame attempt at trying to be a wannabe goddess myself. with the photoshop layers, (nearly gave my friend who's in the line professionally a heart attack.) But I'm still pretty happy with the end result. Haha.

hahahah! so true about some people's opinions, it just shows their character. I'll add this. Many 2D or traditional pencil comic artist who can't figure out how to generate an awesome 3D rendition of their 2D style say 3D art has no soul. The fact is, If may have more soul than they care to admit. We 3D comic artist put our heart, knowledge, spirit and yes soul in every render we produce. We are the well rounded artist. We deal with the lines, the inks, the colors and effects all in a single image. For the most part they do a single aspect of an image and the final output is not just one person but a collaborative effort. (for the most part - there are exceptions). Anyone who is a true artist can appreciate art of every medium.

Neat, you've gotten better at faces and avoiding uncanny valley.
Though the shadows could be bolder, things seem too faint for having all those bright bolts flying around with a dark BG. Darker shadows would also help sharpen Thor's facial features and pull things out alot more.

This is a really cool picture. All 3d programs are without soul... equally.. and images with soul certainly don't depend on what was used to create them. They depend on the artist. And as long as there have been tools to express our creativity, there have been people saying that so and so's hammer is not as good because it didn't take him 3000 hours to make his sculpture. The programs are just the tools.. and all of them can help a creative person fill up a picture with soul! Excellent job!

very good work on this, man. can't tell this is from a soulless program. big sarcasm. It feels right! my two cents, and the others commenting this are right, the guy was not professional, and he's a tool.
Keep it up! --Jim

People used to say that cameras did all the work, too, and that there was no art in taking pictures.
The people that said that just had no vision.
I love Thor and I love your version.
I am thankful that there are more ways than ever before to express our imaginations.

That guy is a tool... Brian Haberlin who has worked on Spawn among others uses Poser extensively. In fact, he has tutorials on that very subject.
Check out www.digitalarttutorials.com...
3d image without soul indeed. What a goof. He demonstrates less IQ than "The Situation" does on Jersey Shore.

I agree! That guy has every right to his opinion, as we all do, but to vengefully hope someone he doesn't even know never gets any work is just rude.
He may work in the industry, but he's certainly not professional.

Moreover, there are many guys in the industry who use Poser either for reference, or for more finished stuff. So looking down on those who use it is just asinine.
