Occasionally I feel ancient - tired, worn, and full - with half-asleep memories that arenβt necessarily mine... like looking at an old photograph - browned and cracked - from a time I never knew. I breathe in the dust and weight from this age, and it fills me... leaves me quiet and alive.the photo and the words are old... but it's been one I meant to submit...
just felt I needed to post ...

This is perhaps one of the most original portraits that I have seen on the site, I can't recall any other photographer who has strived for an old feeling with the set-up and composition of the shot.
Even though the photo is noise and smudge free, the capture looks and feels like it was taken decades ago, that this piece has been through many years. The textures in the background provide a perfect backdrop for the subject of the photo - really lets her stand out. Excellent work!

not too fond of the yellow border (the one you have in the prints version is much, much nicer!), but the photo is just.... awesome.

Very well done! I like the sepia tone as well as the facial expression ; both convey the sense of being ancient and worn or tired very clearly and very well. The clothing is what caught my eye though, and the hairstyle is quite fitting! This is a beautiful piece.

Except the border I like this picture very much; I like the way the woman looks and the lightning intensivies this effect. Her big white eyes and pale skin remind me of some traditional Austrian/German-farmer. Hope to see some more work of yours!
