Well, I have completed my Christmas card for 2013! This image will also be used by my agent for our upcoming holiday themed promotional catalog. This year has been a year of "Magic" for me. I started off 2013 by creating the "Faerie Lights in the Garden of Wishes" piece. Then there was the magical ladybug in "Ladybug Picnic". Also, one of my biggest client projects of the year was a picture book that featured a fairy. So, it seemed appropriate to end the year with another magically themed piece.For this piece, I was inspired by ballet, specifically "Swan Lake" and "The Nutcracker". I wanted to have a loose, modern interpretation of these pieces. The girl and the boy are inspired by the Nutcracker prince and Clara, with the "prince" leading her into the magical winter land. For the fairy, I was inspired by the Sugarplum Fairy and the Swan Princess.

Such a beautiful, magical Christmas card! I really love the swan with its crown and wreath, just adore Swan Lake, the mixed characters and stories blend quite well too
