The motion in the sky, and the still water from the long exposure looks great here. Well captured, and works very well in the mono conversion.

Another excellent shot Toby, your really getting some great results with that filter! Any reason for the B&W conversion?

Thanks James!

Why the conversion? I don't know really; just fancied giving it a go. I might submit the colour version as well. It was taken the same afternoon as my other daylight long exp.

As you can see from my gallery, im not a fan of B&W but i do like this shot, what technique did you use to convert it, i know there is multitude of ways to do in photoshop!

Ready to add another book to your collection? Go on, let me help you spend some more of your money!

I used a technique described in Vincent Versace's (google him - he produces some great work IMHO) "Welcome To Oz". It involves separate channel mixer layers, one each for Red, Green and Blue.

You should open a bookshop specialising in photography books, you seem to have a great knowledge of them! I'd keep you business I've added that one to my amazon wishlist, i'll buy it when i've finished your current recommendation! Which im going to note you about shortly

Thanks Jeremy. How do you think I did on the conversion with this one?

Spot on I think, it works well in black and white.
I like the contrast between the sharp concrete and smooth water.
Great sky too

Oh well, before my time. Ask him if he knew Mr. Fenn? Latin teacher.

Yes, Morris Fenn was his house master. My dad was head of Trinity house and was there from 1969-75. Other teachers included Cantwell, Keith Simons (head) and Weatherstone.

I remember all of those. Weatherstone was my form master - 1 Alpha; as was Cantwell in later years. I was in Seaford.
