worked on this allot the past few weeks for a 3d modeling unit. it is, for those who don't remember (for shame) the Ulysses submarine from Atlantis: the Lost Empire. I've always loved this sub, and i made this model using the Australian McDonald happy meal toy as a reference (the american one was bigger, but out of proportion).this is probably my first decent 3d artwork, and more will follow. the mesh for this submarine is far from complete in my mind. there are lots of errors I've found, and it is very messy, with far to many vertices than it should have. also I've yet to try making bubbles in 3ds max 2011, so that should be fun.

Can you send it to me or have you pictures from the original, because I use Cinema4d to make animations and I would use it to make an underwater animation.
this submarine looks very cool but I can not find good pictures of it, for making a 3d modell.

Its a great looking model its just a pity I don't remember at all what its based on. Looks to me like some kind of Verne idea of a submarine rather than an actual sub, resembles a whale alot too.

as a submarine design, it is a horrifically bad idea. in no way streamlined, the bathysphere is so large and the hull so big that, at the depths it goes to in the movie, it would just be crushed.
