the CMJS Legacy was once the pride of the colonial fleet. bosting hte largest firepower of anyship flying, it also had the longest range. what it lacked in was fighters. it had done, but its anti fighter turrets took care of that.
and then the SIBS Triton was unleashed. in a brutal; suprise attack, the triton's battegroup ambushed the Legacy when she had only two small escourt ships with her. after an opening volley of her guns, the Legacy was heavely damaged, and almost unable to retaliate. many tried to evacuate from the escape pods, and some were picked up by the two supourt craft. but the two cruisers that had followed the triton targeted the escourts. one was destroyed, the other damaged.
aboard the triton, manny, including the admiral, stayed and fought, manning the guns to try and do as much damage as possible to the triton. after scoring a few hits that disabled the front main gun, the Legacy was destroyed.
after this, the remaining Legacy-class batteships had a shuttlebay isntaled ventraly, and more escape pods for the event of an emergency, but the ships never reclamed their glory as a flagship. instead, they were only ever seen in larger gatherings of ships after the 'Legacy incident'.
