Csila draga, multumesc.

Yes, it is! Imagine that all this churches were made since 15th centyry, so tall, and totally made of wood, they didn't use not even a nail for building it.

Amazing when you think about it. The tradition Korean home used to be made like that...not a nail.

was it the one builded by Stefan chel Bun?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Iuliaq In reply to nehcy [2010-05-28 17:30:19 +0000 UTC]

We had two, a man called Stefan cel Mare, and another one Alexandru cel Bun (both lived in XV ans Stefan XVI century), both of them in Moldavia. The church is from XVIII century, so, much younger.

my mistake, i didn't read carefully the year. strange, usualy people from Romania don't recognize them as Moldovans, but say that they are Romanians /no offense, i do disagry with that, there were 2 separate duchyes/

They didn't buildt churches in Transilvania wich, by the way, in this period belonged to the hungarians.

thugh Vlad Tsepesh, if i'm not mistaken, did have at least one castle in Transilvania. And to my knowlage it was build by him.

Here, in the north of Romania, the old churches are all the same. Made from wood and very small, but looking fantastic.
