I like the perspective, clearness and composition of this shot, no or low value of disdurbing noise even through you use high iso values. You achieved it to make the thumb looking fascinating, whats most important to tend viewers to look at your work.

The image could have been improved if you used a higher F-Number, you've got hardly 1mm dept of field in this shot. With a lower shutter speed of 1/160-1/200 -what is quite enought even for a free-hand shot - you would have had reserves to use f/8-f/11 what would have resulted 4-6mm dept of field showing more of the insect sharply.

Anyway, still a good shot worth ing

Thank you very much for the thoughtful critique... I completely agree with you on the f-number and the extremely shallow depth of field, but luckily there are at times really cool accidents that happen in photography and I'm very happy with the way this one turned out! I think just a little more focus depth would be optimal but I actually like the blurred effect on this bug's outer wing edge. Again thanks for the response!

beautiful!
the dark background, the twig it's resting on, very good!
i really like the sort of look he gives you, sort of curious look (overactive imagination?)

i've got respect for the people who are capable of finding the little details of this great world, and getting them in this beautiful forms
just a shame his wings aren't focused too..but with the extreme tiny thing, i can understand

beautiful!
