Your work is very interesting. Looking at your portfolio I was very impress by the photos you took of piers. You see, I'm a writer (a French one) and in the book I’m just finishing, the very last sentence describes the hero walking alone on a pier towards the sea. Maybe I should try to convince my editor to use one of your photos for the cover

I'm glad you find my photos interesting, especially piers. I like that motive, and I always look for new ones.
I would like to see one of my photos on the cover of the book. Try to convince your editor

The name of the novel is PHARE, french for Lighthouse.
There are 3 publishing houses interested. Maybe I should choose the one who will gave me control over the cover art
Anyway if that happens, I'll remember your beautiful images and their subtle hints of... loneliness.

I think publishers should give you control over cover, you as writer can make a good decision

In a perfect world it should be like you are saying. But publishers want to sell books so the always choose something that they think will catch the eyes of the customers... and serious art does not attract the masses
For my first book I manage to put one of my paintings on the cover... and it didn't sale very well
By th way. could you give me the name of a good croat writer. I have to confess that I never read croatian litterature (of course it has to be in english or french). I'm afraid that here in North America the only thing we know about your country is still to this day that terrible war...

Yes I understand, cover of the book is very important for selling the book, I know that from first hand, it always the book with good front cover that gets in my hand first, then I look for the short description.

Hm, name of the good croat writer...
Maybe Ivan Aralica.
I must think harder for another that are translated in English or French.

Yes, the war. It's been 15 years since that and a lot of people from Europe and North America still think about it.

Now we have different problems, common to the other parts of the world
